The Diocese of Chulucanas, located in northern Peru, department of Piura, consists of 24 parishes, distributed in 03 provinces Ayabaca, Morropón and Huancabamba, most of these parishes are located in rural areas.
We have the Diocesan Seminary “Holy Trinity”, where our future priests are being formed, also 7 pastoral areas: Pastoral Animation, Small Communities, Youth Ministry, Catechesis, Liturgy, Communications, Diocesan Office of Religious Education and the Council of Economic Affairs. From the Plan of Renewed Diocesan Evangelization that we apply, we seek to fulfill the objectives, goals and actions in the different areas and thus continue the path of building a Church of Communion, Participation and Mission, in our diocesan pastoral.
The inhabitants of our diocese are mostly low-income subsistence farmers and people of deep faith. In the parishes, many participate in our pastoral programs as area coordinators, catechists, youth ministers and liturgical leaders. Parishes do not have sufficient financial resources to carry out our pastoral programs, so we must ask for help to:
– support our parish and diocesan liturgical programs;
– support the training of catechists and the production of catechetical materials; and also support the education and formation of our seminarians.
We are very grateful for the generosity of the donors in the missions, their help greatly facilitates our evangelization activities in our families and communities, as well as continuing with the formation of our seminarians.
