When expressing our faith, it should be done with all the gifts that God has given us. Sharing the good news of the Gospel through art gives children the opportunity to share the love God has for all of us. This is one of the reasons we invite children in grades K-8 to use their artistic talent and enter the MCA Christmas Annual Artwork Contest. This contest takes place during the season of Advent and the children are asked to depict a theme from the season.
All children in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles are encouraged to enter and have the chance to be selected as one of our twelve local finalists. The twelve local winning entries will then be submitted to the MCA National Office to be entered in the nationwide contest where twenty-four winners will be selected to be displayed at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. during the following Advent and Christmas seasons.
